Greek House in Norman offers a straightforward but satisfying taste of classic Greek cuisine. This modest, cash-only spot is often bustling, especially on University of Oklahoma football days when students and locals come in craving well-stuffed gyro sandwiches that don’t hold back on meat, tomatoes, onions, and freshly made tzatziki sauce. The menu keeps things simple — think gyros, Greek salads, fries, and a few traditional sides like baklava and hummus, which makes it easy to pick exactly what hits the spot without fuss.

Located just a few blocks from campus, Greek House has a comfortably no-frills vibe that feels familiar to anyone who’s made it a routine stop over the years. Parking can be tight, but you’ll usually find something a block or so away. Expect a casual, lively atmosphere where the staff are quick and friendly, reflecting a family-run warmth that locals appreciate.

This place is best for a quick, hearty meal rather than a long sit-down dinner. Students, locals looking for a genuine gyro fix, or anyone wanting an authentic bite in a laid-back setting will find what they’re after here. The portions lean large; many find the gyro sandwich enough on its own without tackling the accompanying fries.

For visitors, timing your visit outside lunch rush or game days ensures a more relaxed experience. And while payment is cash only, there’s an ATM inside to keep things hassle-free. Whether you’re returning since ’95 or trying your first gyro, Greek House brings a slice of Norman’s local flavor through its simple menu and personable service.

Gyros are wonderful! I always get just the sandwich because they're so big that I can hardly eat the fries that come with the meal. They are STUFFED with meat, tomatoes and onions. Just the right amount of Tzatziki sauce, I watched them make it fresh! Please remember that this is a cash only establishment, but the good news is that there's an ATM right in the restaurant. Definitely a must try, y'all

This is an iconic and nostalgic place for me. First time here was in 1995 and we come here every time we visit Norman. Can’t go to Norman and not eat here. Simply menu just gyros, fries and Greek salad and pita bread. It’s the best that I have had. Limited parking but parking available around the block too. Great place for students at OU. This place is busy on football day.

CASH only. They do have an ATM inside. Got gryo sandwich, very tasty beef gyro, and authentic feeling yogurt/hummus paste.

As I walked in I noticed a nice aroma from the rotating roasting meat behind the order counter. I ordered the gyro plate, tea, and baklava. I was given a number and sat and waited. Looking around I could tell the inside decor was a little bit banged up and aged but clean. Order came in short time and the amount of food was huge! It came with gyro, pita bread, fries, and salad. Everything tasted wonderful especially the baklava. The portions were more than I could eat at one seating and had to take some home. This place is less than a block away from OU and is very popular with students. Great place for a quick filling meal.

Always consistent. Great for a quick lunch if you have cash or want to use the ATM. Staff are friendly and accurate when serving food. The decor is nothing fancy and hasn’t really changed in decades if I were the stop and think about it but I also don’t come here to look at the decor and take in the atmosphere. Not where I would want to go on a date but if my date wanted to grab take out and have a picnic and enjoy the OU campus and surrounding area it’s a win.
